Daisy Ridley as Rey, Oscar Isaac as Poe and John Boyega as Finn in Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker

Is it the end already? It was only four years ago when we were introduced to the main trio of the new Star Wars trilogy – Daisy Ridley's Rey, John Boyega's Finn and Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron. And yet, during the sequel series, the three actors didn't have much time on the shared screen. Fortunately, this will change everything in the next Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker .

As teased with the recent trio footage, Chewbacca, C-3PO and BB-8 escaping from some Stormtroopers, fans can get excited to finally see the team all together in a final adventure against the First Order. The cast of Rise of Skywalker was really excited to work together again this time. As John Boyega said:

This was important in this, for me, that we were together just to show that chemistry and show what I've always liked about Star Wars, which is the connection between people.

Boyega told ET that it does not actually look like Star Wars until the public sees you as a trio and looks like Rise of Skywalker will strengthen finally this status for the main actors of the sequel trilogy. While the fans enjoyed seeing Ridley and Boyega play each other in Force Awakens , Rey was off his secondary mission with Luke Skywalker in Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi , while Finn met Rose Tico and Ke from Kelly Marie Tran worked alongside General Leia by Carrie Fisher.

Not to mention the popular relationship that many support: the one between Finn and Poe. While J.J. Abrams recently confirmed that the dynamic between the two is more bromante than boyfriends, seeing all three of these characters working together for the nearest trilogy is particularly exciting! In the words of Oscar Isaac:

You will see the dynamics between the three of us and I think that natural chemistry we all share together and also the way J.J. [Abrams] we play inside those scenes and shoot those scenes. There was a lot of … improvisation and excitement and mutual conversations. So you heard we were connected.

Isaac also talked about how happy he was to be out of the cockpit for this film after he was “seized in space by himself for a while”. The new film will also touch on the past and the secrets of each character. With Poe, we will learn more about him through the new character of Keri Russell, Zorii Bliss and J.J. Abrams has promised that there will be answers for Finn.

Following the great revelation of Last Jedi , there is still the question of how powerful Rey is with the Force. Will he still have a famous relative (perhaps with Palpatine?) Or he is not really “anyone”.

Replies await December 20, when the last chapter of the Skywalker Saga Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker arrives in theaters.
