The science fiction cult film Starship Troopers shares the name with the novel written by Robert A. Heinlein in 1959, and even if it is a little more satirical and less critical than the original novel, he nevertheless managed to become very popular. The story of Johnny Rico, who joins the armed forces, and his adventures in the war between the Infantry Cell and the known alien race approach insects are denied even used approach inspiration for the creation of a first-person shooter, also called Starship Troopers, which was released in 2005. Quite unexpectedly, it looks like the franchise is about to churn out another one, as Slitherine has just announced a real-time strategy game called Starship Troopers: Terran Say.
Starship Troopers: Terran Say is based on the universe shown in the film, and will put you in control of the Infantry Cell during the war against the arachnid threat . In your attempt to save humanity you will have to make the best possible use of your units to counter the almost unlimited number of troops that aliens can deploy.
You will have a wide range of troops at your disposal, from infantry units armed with Morita assault rifles and MX fragmentation grenades – 90, to engineers capable of deploying turrets and mines. As the campaign progresses, you will develop technologies to upgrade your troops with new weapons that, at the same time, will open up a variety of new strategic options.

According to Iain McNeil, director of development at Slitherine, Starship Troopers: Terran Say will remain as faithful as possible to the film:
“We have tried to capture the essence of the original film and its universe, not only by creating a coherent set of units and scenarios, but also by imitating the language, visual elements, dialogues and small details that made the such iconic and cult film ”.
With dynamically generated campaigns, Starship Troopers: Terran Say promises a high replay value that will keep fans of the genre and the film glued to their PCs for long hours. The game will be released next year, but a precise release date has not yet been revealed.
